Amazon QuickSight is a fast, cloud-based business intelligence service that makes it easy to deliver insights to everyone in your organization.
AWS Glue is a serverless data integration service that makes it easier to find, prepare, move, and integrate data from multiple sources for analytics, machine learning (ML), and application development.
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an object storage service that provides industry-leading scalability, data availability, security, and performance.
Amazon CloudWatch Amazon EKS Amazon API Gateway
Amazon CloudWatch is a tool for real-time monitoring of resources and applications running on AWS. You can use CloudWatch to collect and track metrics, which are measurable variables about your resources and applications, create alarms, and raise alarms when thresholds are breached. A managed service that you can use to run Kubernetes on AWS without having to install, operate, and maintain your own Kubernetes control plane or nodes. Kubernetes is an open-source system for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Amazon API Gateway is a fully managed service that enables developers of all sizes to easily create, publish, maintain, monitor, and secure APIs.
API Gateway supports real-time, two-way communication applications and containerized serverless workloads and web applications.

Case 01.

SKT GeoVision

Company introduction

SK Telecom is an 「AI & Digital Infra Service Company」 of customers, technology and services that provides mutual services to customers based on wired/wireless communication, AI and ICT stability.

SK Telecom raises the wired/wireless communication network and connects it to the phone, We will continue to link in new areas such as subscription, metaverse, and digital infrastructure.

 

Challenge

The provision of a demographic data tiling placement API provided by On-premise was a difficult configuration to respond to as the number of users in Frontend increased.
Customers wanted an API platform that could bring data into the AWS cloud and configure an API gateway with CDN services such as CloudFront to enable smooth, large-scale traffic response.
We also wanted to achieve our goals in a short development period, and we wanted a serverless architecture that would reduce the burden on operators.

 

Solution

The Signed URL, one of the features of CloudFront, is utilized to ensure that content can only be provided to authorized users. It was also able to cache objects that were accessed repeatedly to provide services to users faster and at a lower cost.

From data storage to data delivery, all services are configured without a server. This has reduced the burden of operations, and has increased the number of users, allowing them to operate flexibly in the event of heavy traffic.

 

Results and Benefits

Since operating the infrastructure in the cloud, we have been able to provide APIs more flexibly for rapidly increasing traffic, and we have adopted a serverless architecture to further reduce the burden on infrastructure management.

Since the migration to AWS, we have been supported by Comtec systems to monitor infrastructure, and in case of problems, we receive messages in real time through Cloudwatch alarms.

Case 02.

NIPA  Digital Twin - 5G IoT

Company introduction

NIPA is a government agency established in Korea in 1991 to promote the development and innovation of the information and communication industry to lead the growth of the national economy and technological advancement.

NIPA supports research and development projects in software and telecommunications to promote the development of innovative products and services.

NIPA is concentrating on IT industry technical support, IT convergence technology support, and fostering the embedded software industry, and is striving to develop the information communication and software industries at home and abroad.

 

Challenge

NIPA was conducting a 5G-based digital twin manufacturing industry application demonstration project. This project is a government project, and a number of manufacturers have participated along with SKT. It is a business that uses 5G and digital twin technology to promote productivity improvement, safety management, and technology development of companies to support innovation at the manufacturing site. NIPA wanted to collect IoT sensors for manufacturing factories through its business and do smart management of manufacturing factories through 3D modeling.

Through this project, NIPA wanted to create a smart factory that collects safety-related indicators of partner factories through unmanned robots and sensors, supports monitoring through data visualization, and develops a solution that quickly propagates when abnormalities are detected.

 

Solution

The business is aimed at a real-time manufacturing safety and innovation platform that leverages 5G-based and digital twinning for all manufacturing and production facilities. It implements a system that collects/analyzes sensor data from AWS Cloud by attaching IoT sensors to manufacturing and production facilities and is designed to process data and provide it to 3D viewers.

This enables participating companies to quickly and easily control and manage real-time manufacturing and production facility data through the 3D viewer implemented on AWS Cloud, incorporating 5G technology into manufacturing and production facilities, and providing opportunities for new business creation and innovation.

 

Results and Benefits

Through this project, forecasting and planned use of energy and power became possible, and the safety of the facility and surrounding environment could be greatly improved by setting forecasts, alarms, and monitoring through AWS resources.

Case 03.

Gangneung Science Industry Promotion Agency (GSIPA) 

Company introduction

Gangneung Science and Industry Promotion Agency (GSIPA) is a research and industry support organization located in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea.

The institution was established with the goals of technology research and development, support of local industries, and education and talent development. GSIPA supports innovative ideas and technologies in the field of science and technology to promote regional economic development, and seeks to build a sustainable industrial ecosystem through cooperation with local companies.

 

Challenge

The demonstration support system must flexibly combine on-premise and public cloud environments through hybrid cloud construction so that data and applications can be shared smoothly. In addition, for ultra-low latency, network delay with the 5G access network must be minimized to maximize the performance of AR/VR 5G applications.

 

Solution

We chose Outposts from AWS to minimize network delay and maximize application performance while flexibilizing on-premise and public cloud environments, which are the challenges of the business.

This demonstration support system is linked to AWS Outposts Local Gateway and On-premise to provide interworking of AR/VR/metaverse content based on 5G MEC in conjunction with Nokia NSA/SA core.

G4DN EC2s equipped with GPUs can be finely slotted to support the development and testing of AR/VR/metaverse content.

 

Results and Benefits

The use of AWS Outposts in the business provided a consistent API, tools, hardware, and management interface in both on-premise and cloud environments. This has made it easier for developers and operations teams to work in these two environments, reducing development and operational costs, and simplifying operational and management of existing systems.

The ability to maintain data in an on-premise environment minimizes data processing latency, improves data collection and analytics efficiency, provides high availability and reliability in an on-premise environment, thereby maintaining business continuity and reducing recovery times in the event of infrastructure failure.
